Non-formal Education

“Hope For Children” CRC Policy Center provides a variety of experiential workshops based on the method of non-formal education to children of all educational levels across Cyprus.

The aim of these actions is to promote the effective prevention and handling of violence in school / educational context, as well as behaviors that may violate the rights of children (e.g. racism, sexual violence, bullying, etc.). The preventing programs which focus among others on combating discrimination, racism and violence, aim at the development of social, emotional and communicational skills, as well as to raise awareness and enhance critical thinking of children and adolescents.

More specifically, the content of the workshops is appropriately structured for the implementation of prevention and intervention programs in school / educational contexts, mainly for primary and secondary prevention. Primary prevention schools’ programs are addressed at the entire student population and aim to promote the mental health and well-being of all individuals, regardless of their individual characteristics. Secondary prevention programs address groups of students who have shown some early signs of psychological difficulties.
