Elena Hadjithoma

Clinical Psychologist

Elena Hadjithoma is a licensed and registered Clinical Psychologist. She is currently employed by “Hope For Children” CRC Policy Center, as a Clinical Psychologist. She is currently positioned at the “Children’s House” as a Family Counselor, performing assessment and therapy for suspected child sexual abuse cases and providing counselling to children and their families.

Elena holds both a Bachelor and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Sofia. She has also attained the Education and Professional Training Program in “Counseling and Treatment of Substance Abuse and Addiction” from the Systemic Institute of Cyprus. Moreover, Elena has successfully become a Master Practitioner in Eating Disorders and Obesity from the National Centre for Eating Disorders (NCFED) of Great Britain.  She also holds the cognitive ability assessment WAIS IV - Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale - Certificate.

Prior to her current position, Elena was working as both a Clinical Psychologist and a Prevention and Treatment Counselor in a Private Clinic, focusing mainly on alcohol and drug substance addicted individuals, as well as on mental health patients and persons suffering from obesity and eating disorders.

She was also the head coordinator of the Self-Help Support Groups at Prevention Centers “MESOGEIOS”, supporting families of drug addicts and alcoholics, groups suffering from depression and anxiety, and groups with difficulties in emotional and personal development. Elena was also conducting and implementing workshops targeted to private school students for the prevention of bullying and stress management. Additionally, Elena was conducting “Prevention of Addictive Substance Use” workshops to middle and high school students as an external associate of the Larnaca Anti-Drug Alliance Association.
